Kim-Vy Tran
Kim-Vy Tran
I am currently the Associate Director for Internal Relations at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian. Prior to joining the Center for Astrophysics, I was a professor at the University of New South Wales, University of Zürich, and Texas A&M University. I received my PhD in Astronomy & Astrophysics from the University of California, Santa Cruz and I held postdoctoral fellowships at the Center for Astrophysics, Leiden Observatory, and ETH Zürich.
I currently lead an international team of astronomers in a large observational survey to deliver a benchmark library of strong gravitational lenses. These stunning systems act as cosmic magnifying glasses and are a powerful tool for understanding how galaxies grow through cosmic time. With my team, I use observatories including the Hubble Space Telescope and Keck to study strong gravitational lenses and understand how galaxies form and evolve.
